A few months ago, off to Kenya I did go;
To teach in Melon Mission and Silver Bells;
The impact on me was impossible to tell.

The children were special, and the teachers too.
All working for nothing, what a wonderful thing to do.

Their lives are so simple;
and they survive on love,
Hungry tummies and lots of hugs.

But laughter and fun was all around;
how humbling to me was that sound.

I wanted to help but how, I was not sure,
Until I met Eunice, a single mum of four.
Her life devoted to her four girls,
Along with 300 others in Silver Bells.

She adopted Faith who is only four;
a horrific life for her was in store.
Eunice has dedicated her life;
to keep Faith away from trouble and strife.

Eva, her eldest, is a house maid;
Cynthia finished high school with good grades;
Abigail who is still at school happily;
Completes her lovely family.

For Cynthia, there is no future unless, to college she attends;
so this is how my Birthday money, I am going to spend.

To sponsor Cynthia through college years;
I know this will cause a few tears;
that I can guarantee, in public school a teacher she will be.
