I've raised £2000 to raise funds for Sheringham Dementia Friendly Community

This September I will be walking the Camino way across Spain. It is a potentially dangerous, arduous trek of 16-18 miles a day for 30-35 days. Everything I need for my month-long 500-mile journey will be carried in my backpack, weighing a hefty 12kg.
My aim is to raise significant funds for the Sheringham Dementia Friendly Community, to boost awareness of this terrible end of life disease, and to highlight the community of carers who help those that suffer.
Walking is part of my personal and professional life, and my Mum always encouraged my trailblazing adventures. She was a quiet, gentle caring lady, always helping others. Sadly she passed away from Vascular Dementia in December last year. Towards the end of her life, one of her favourite places was the SDFC class at the Lighthouse Church in Sheringham, where playing games and socialising with others always brought a smile to her face.
My inspiration for this walk comes from my Mum and the two most influential people in my life, my son Adam and my daughter Amie. My Mum gave me the encouragement I needed to grow into who I am, my daughter gives me independence and strength, and my son guides me through challenging times with his positivity.
