Kayleigh (age 14) and Nicolle (age 9) both started gymnastics at a very young age. They started there gymnastics journey at Blandford forum gymnastics club, where their love for the sport grew. Kayleigh started competing at the age of 7 in club and regional competitions. As she got older she started competing in competitions like the south west trampolining gradings in Bath. She went on to be south west champion in April 2013. Nicolle also started competing at the age of 7 and started to enter the same competitions as Kayleigh. Nicolle has also won multiple south west competitions. In 2015 Kayleigh qualified through to the National team finals at Peterborough in tumbling. She placed 11th in her age group! Unfortunately in 2016 Kayleigh had to take 6 months off due to an injury to both knees, but when she was given the all clear to train again she was more determined than ever and worked hard to catch up with the other girls. In 2016 nicolle qualified through to the national team finals at Birmingham for trampolining. Following in her sisters footsteps.
In the summer of 2016 the girls made a tough decision to change clubs. They now started training at OLGA in Poole. Here they both carried on with trampolining and tumbling but started a new discipline, DMT. Nicolle recently qualified for the second year in a row through to the national team finals where she placed 4th just missing out on a medal! But she is now through to the national individual finals in Telford. Nicolle also recently entered the English championships for DMT where she placed joint 7th. Nicolle is now elite in DMT, working on level 4 in tumbling and working on level 5 in trampolining. Kayleigh is now working on level 6 in DMT, level 5 in trampolining and level 5 in Tumbling. They are both continuing to work hard to achieve their dreams but I am struggling with the costs of the competitions as they are getting further and further away so any donations will be more than appreciated.
