Story
In 1950, my Great grandfather started a community School in a remote village of Sirkot, Syangja some 240km west of Kathmandu, capital of Nepal. It is now called "Shree Sirkot Madhyamik Vidyalaya". My grandfather who has now passed away, continued with his father's passion and devotion, helped the school into secondary status. In 2015, the school appeared in the School Leaving Certificate (GCSE equivalent) board for the first time and pupils passed with good grades.
There are now 220 pupils getting formal education at this school. The school receives very little grant from the government and is in desperate need for mattresses where children can sit to learn. There is also no outdoor play equipment for children to play and I am pledging to fund for mattresses, swings, slides, see-saw, climbs so that young children can develop physically as well as mentally.
The school has made tremendous progress and is considering to go even higher with Year 11 and Year 12. The school have few computers but are old and need replacing. This fund will also help in buying new computer equipments.
On 30th March 2019, I am cycling with my friends (Raju Manandhar, Sudhir Shrestha, Hari Krishna Neupane) from London to Brighton (92.1km) just for this cause and I hope that people will donate to make a difference to the ones who are seeking to make a better future.
No donation is too small and I will really appreciate if you could help me in this novel cause.
