I've raised £1200 to cover the full cost for the residents of college house in Newton Abbott to go on a day trip.

Many of you will already know my brother David was born with many challenges to face. They said David would never walk, talk or be able to do anything for himself. I am pleased to say David proved those doctors wrong. He started walking at the age of 2 & as for talking he can even manage that in his sleep. With this as great as it is David does face challenges in his everyday life, things we all take for granted, like holding a knife & fork, can only buy certain shoes that will fit his splints in. Along with this David suffers with learning difficulties, depression & anxiety, general everyday tasks can be very hard. What David has is called Alfie syndrome. Unfortunately when David was 2 our Dad died of a brain hemorrhage at the age of 36, Just before our Dad was due to do a parachute jump for honeylands, which is where David attended at the time. He never got to do the jump but as people had already sponsored my Dad, David took on the sponsorship & done a teddy bear walk instead. It was a real big thing at the time with the express and echo involved. Knowing this growing up I have always said I would do the jump in honour of my Dad. So on the 21st July 2018 marks 30 yrs our Dad has been gone, so on this day I am booked in for my jump. To say I am scared is a understatement as I write this my stomach is turning. It is because of the reasons & to honour our Dad of what will get me through this. This time the money will go to College House, which is where David lives with other disabled adults to go out on day trips. When we asked them where they would like to go we got 4 different places Longleat, Butlins, Theatre and Weymouth. The fact that they have asked for places that many of us have already been or could easily go to makes me even more determined. Some of the people David live with either have no or very few family so something like this would mean a lot. After they have paid for there care unfortunately they are not left with enough money to go on day trips
