Back in 2015 my brother was involved in a work place accident that left him with devastating, life changing injuries. The main injury was to the left side of his skull which was damaged so badly it had to be removed. He has spent the past few years rebuilding his life and learning to do simple tasks again from scratch. Whilst in ICU in Salford Royal we found there were no funds available for a simple radio so he could listen to the match or something for the family to listen to whilst sitting by his bedside. The sound of the machines take over and only add to the heartache. It may seem trivial but that simple gesture meant that there was no silence in the room, it was a more welcoming place. My brother is recovering amazingly so I want to give other families that calmness in an otherwise emotional and stressful time.
