My son has been lucky enough to have gained a place at Westminster Kingsway college in London to do a 3 year chef diploma.
He is loving every minute of the course and is extremley dedicated, getting up at 5am some mornings to catch the first train.
He has 4 hours travelling each day and the cost is over £4000 each year.
My son has to pay the same for a season ticket as any other commuter earning a wage. He works at weekends but this just covers a tiny percent of the cost.
My husband and I both work hard but unfortunatley are not in the lowest pay bracket to qualify for help, yet we do not earn enough to pay this huge amount of money.
We have just got through the first couple of terms. My son has used money put by from his grandparents but this has nearly run out.
James dreams of working in a michelin star restaurant and eventually owning his own as well as becoming a food journalist.
James is a driven 16 year old and is getting the best possible training for his future career. Nowhere locally offers the same level of training and we desperatley want him to continue there.
We have exhausted all avenues to find a way for cheaper train travel, but as of yet have been unsuccessful.
