Story

4 and a half years ago, in the summer of 2016, I was lucky enough to go out and volunteer (for Elephant-Human Relations Aid) at the “Abraham Gariseb” school in rural Namibia, in a region where wild desert elephants live, sometimes in their search for water and food causing conflict with farmers. My experience working at the school completely touched my heart - the children were so welcoming to us (and were amazing singers and netball players!) It really made me appreciate how lucky I am.

Next Saturday (13th Feb), I will be raising money for some of these children. I've just found out that some live too close to the school (or to another one, Okongue) to be able to board there, meaning the costs of their meals are not covered. Mostly due to the pandemic of Covid-19, these children’s parents/guardians are struggling to provide a sufficient amount of food for the children.

I have decided to try to help by hula-hooping (with a weighted hoop) for 8 hours continuously (with a 5 minute break after 2,4 and 6 hours). I would really appreciate any donation possible to help these children. Incredibly just 34 Euros (~£30) will cover their school meals for one year!

Thank you.
