I've raised £500 to enable Anna to go to South Africa to share her passion for Art and Sports with children in the local orphanage

A couple in South Africa have set up an orphanage to give over 40 children a home and an education. They use their farm to house orphaned and abused children after their own children left home. They receive no government funding and rely on volunteers to help with renovating new buildings, teaching lessons, organising sports days and art projects.
Anna is one of eight 16/17 year olds who have been selected to go to S Africa from 100's of applicants and from nearly 1000 people who took part in NCS (National Citizenship Service) last year. They have been selected based on their commitment, leadership and teamworking skills to the NCS project in the summer which included 2 weeks of planning events to raise nearly £2000 for a local domestic violence charity.
Anna says.....NCS gave me the confidence to make friends, trust people, try new adventures and to work as a team to achieve amazing things together. I never imagined that I would have this opportunity and I can't wait to spend time with the children in South Africa and to share my passion for art and sport and to help them realise how important and valued they are and that they each have something amazing to offer, just as NCS has done for me.
