I've raised £350 to help an asylum seeker fulfil her dream of becoming a hairdresser. Funds will be used to buy the equipment needed to finish her course.

Story

Every week for just over a year, I have been befriending an asylum seeker and her young children. It has been a privilege journeying with her in such an uncertain and vulnerable season of her life, assisting her integration into UK society, and practically enabling and empowering her to take steps to support her family and achieve the hopes that she has for them. It has been her lifelong dream to become a hairdresser, and thanks to support from the City Council, she has been enrolled on to various courses to help this become possible. However in order to pursue this further, it is necessary that she acquire different pieces of hairdressing equipment and fund her transport to a different college campus. With limited finances, there is some fear that pursuing this dream will no longer be possible and consequently we are thinking of creative ways in which to fund this. We would therefore greatly appreciate any donation, no matter how small or large, to help keep this dream alive.
