Story

On the 11th of May 2018, I enquired about a cat that I had been following the story of at The Cat's Whiskers - Bucks facebook page about a poor little cat that was no longer wanted by its owners and had taken it to the vet to be put to sleep. They had also just discovered she had kidney failure, which meant she became unsuitable to be put up for adoption, and were seeking a family for an 'End of Life' foster home. A few messages, and a house visit shortly after, it was agreed that we would be a great family for Poppet to come and live with for the remainder of her life, however long that would be. The Cat's Whiskers said that they would still take all the financial responsibility for her, including vets / medical treatment, food, litter etc.

I don't take money from them for her food and litter - she is too much a part of our family for that, but they do still pay for the medical issues as Poppet is un-insurable due to her existing conditions. So, as she will be due her next round of tests to see how her kidney functions are doing, I wanted to try and raise the money for this myself so it doesn't come out of the already very stretched funds these amazing people work tirelessly for.

So, I have signed up for the RACE AT YOUR PACE 100 MILE CHALLENGE - Just cover 100 miles within the month of January. 3.22 miles a day sounds simple...Right? All the money raised will go towards Poppet's vet visit in January and if there is anything left over, will go to The Cat's Whiskers to help other fur-babies in need.
