I've raised £400 to help older people beat loneliness. My project will bring animals into Kingsmere, a care home in Wimbledon, to spread happiness.

My grandmother, Ami, was one of the most beloved persons in my life. Another "person" I loved dearly was my first best friend, the cat "Schufti". Both of them made me incredibly happy.
When my grandmother got older, she moved into a caring home. She did not have family in the same city she lived in, so she was not able to receive very frequent visits.
I have times when I feel lonely as well, and for me, it was always animals and the love they have for the humans who care for them which reminds me how great life is and how important it is that we are connected to nature.
This is why I brought this project to life- bringing animals to a care home in Wimbledon, to those humans who feel lonely at times and are not very mobile to go out there and seek those connections with nature and other humans themselves.
On a side note: Animal-assisted therapy is popular with the care homes and has particular benefits for residents with dementia. It has been proven that interacting with animals makes people happier and increases energy levels. Also, the presence of animals can trigger pleasant memories of past life experiences for example childhood pets or living abroad.
Whatever you can spare to make this happen to spread the love would be amazing- and yes, every little helps!
Thank you so much,
Anna
