In the summer holidays of 2018, I will be travelling to Cambodia for a four week expedition. While I am there, I will be helping with local projects such as: helping generations of children by building a new school classroom or constructing vitally needed housing from local materials for some of the most impoverished families. I might also be helping improve the health of a whole community through installing and improving water and sanitation supplies. There may even be the opportunity for me to replant saplings in areas affected by deforestation.
My stay in Cambodia will also include a 4 day trek to the jungle where I will be sleeping in a hammock! This will give me the chance to be astounded by the sights, sounds and experiences of this fantastic and beautiful country.
A big part of the expedition and experience is to fundraise - this is to encourage me to be more resourceful and improve my financial management, problem solving and communication skills - vital life skills. I have lots of events in the pipeline over the next 18 months including coffee mornings, name cards and a race night.
