Here is a personal message from Anna :
“I’ve always liked cats and when I was living in Spain I looked after a colony of stray cats; when the movie “A Streetcat named Bob” was released, of course I could not miss it and that’s how I discovered The Big Issue (for my friends outside the UK: https://www.bigissue.org.uk/) . I have been buying the magazine every week since then and even if “my” vendor does not have a pet on her pitch, I was really touched by issue no. 1284, telling the story of the volunteer vets and nurses who bring care to the dogs of people sleeping rough. When you have so little left as they do, their pet is almost certainly their only certitude in life and not being able to look after them properly must be excruciating.
Now that I am preparing to leave the company where I worked for 10 years, rather than receiving a farewell gift, I’d like my friends to be open-minded and generous and to donate to help these volunteers doing their job. I have much more than I need in life and I have been blessed to come across you all: the smiles, the happy memories will stay forever with me, and knowing that you have contributed to a cause close to my heart will make me happier than any physical reminder of my passage at SBFE.
