A friend of mine developed Alopecia last year and we were saddened by the ignorance that surrounds this affliction. I decided to shave my head to help raise awareness. This idea has grown and on the 1st of July I will be publicly having my head shaved. My hair will be donated to The Little Princess Trust who provide wigs free of charge for children who have lost their hair. My daughter who is 10 wanted to join in and we decided to use the event to promote and raise money for other charities close to our hearts. I volunteer once a week for Caring Hands and we got both of our greyhounds from Perry Barr RGT. My daughter was also very keen to donate to a cancer charity as her Grandmother died of Bowel Cancer before she was born. It is going to be quite a shock having no hair but we feel it will be worth look, stare and discomfort to raise awareness and some money. Please give generously not just to support these wonderful charities but to support my daughter who at 10 wants to be a part of this so much that when we said she could she cried with excitement.
