Weʼre raising £100,000 to help fund the best trial abroad for relapsed brain cancer of our 3 year old daughter Anna Poppy
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
We are asking for help to raise money to enable our daughter Anna Poppy to the access the best trial for a very aggressive brain & spinal cancer.
Anna is a typical little girl; she loves dressing up as a princess and looking after babies.
Unfortunately Anna was diagnosed with a medullablastoma in December 2017, shortly after her 2nd Birthday. Since then she has endured a 9 hour operation, 6 months of chemotherapy finished off by a intensive high dose chemotherapy where Anna was confined to a room for 5 weeks. Doctors were hopeful and offered her around an 80% chance of a cure.
Throughout the whole process Anna was unbelievably resilient and was always keen to get up and play whenever she could. Treatmemt finished in June 2018 and since then Anna has been in remission, with 2 clear scans, and making a steady recovery. She finally started to eat solid food again in January 2019 and her feeding tube (which she affectionately called Terry) was removed after over a year of being permanently stuck to her face.
Unfortunately, after her 3rd scan on February 4th we received the devastating call to say that the scan showed a tumour in her spine.
Since then we have been told that this means her cancer is now metastatic and very aggressive. The only curative option would be for full radiotherapy to the brain and spine for 6 weeks but there is only a 20% chance this will work.
After that the nhs will only offer palliative care and Anna's life expectancy would be months.
We are unbelievably thankful to the nhs so far but we can not give up hope. We have spoken to other parents in our position and understand that America has several different options for further treatment should radiotherapy be unsuccessful. We are not sure of the exact costs needed until we know which trial would work best but we know it will all need to be self funded.
Time is not in our favour so we would be extremely grateful for any donations you can offer to help us save our little girl.

Thank you to everyone that has been supporting us and helped reach the initial target. We now have our first quote for some treatment in Germany, and we are awaiting further quotes from US based hospitals. This quote is for £50k for treatment only and does not include travel, accommodation, scans or contingencies. Based on our 1st cycle of chemo we know anything can happen. With this in mind we still needs lots of help and we are therefore increasing the target to accurately reflect the quote provided. We are grateful for any help offered.

Wow...we are thrilled to be over the £40k mark and with lots still happening. We are overwhelmed by everyone's generosity. As mentioned we are unsure of the exact amount of money needed until we select the best trial option available to Anna when the current NHS treatment ends. That said we have been told that our original figure is very optimistic and it is likely to be double or treble this. Therefore anything over the target will be greatly appreciated.
