My 30 for 30 Challenge!
In a bid to push myself, get fit, raise a bit of money and, yes, make my birthday last an entire year I have set myself a year long challenge. During my 30th year I am going to run 30 races. This averages out at three races every five weeks, ranging from 5k park runs all the way to a metric marathon (fingers crossed). Every race is going to take me one step closer to completing my challenge and hopefully reaching my fundraising target of £330.
The money raised is going to be used to ensure that disadvantaged young people in the local community have access to opportunities that they might otherwise miss out on. I have decided to start this fund in honour of my dad, Tom Costello. For over 35 years he worked tirelessly with young people to ensure that no matter who they where, or what background they came from, they had access to opportunities and experiences deserving of all young people. Since his retirement my dad has remained as passionate about this cause as ever and I would like the money raised to help to continue his legacy.
I am sure you would agree that I am not a natural runner. This is going to take a lot of deep heat, determination and support - and this is where you lovely people come in. Whether it be a message of good luck, a running buddy for a race or a few pennies donated on here, all help and support would be much appreciate!
First race is on the day of my 30th Birthday - Wish me luck!
