I am extremely excited about the fact that in July/August 2017 I will be travelling to Senegal for three weeks with Projects Abroad to help them with their amazing work- helping change the lives of underprivileged orphans.

Projects Abroad is a large organisation that has now been operating for over 20 years. They have sent nearly 100,000 volunteers to volunteer projects in developing countries to help change lives. Their mission is to encourage young people to volunteer overseas for a worthwhile cause and to change lives. They "aim to create a multi-national community with a passion to serve, to learn, to understand, to teach, to inspire and to be inspired."

Every morning I will be working closely with staff in the local St Louis kindergarten, helping them give children aged between 3 and 6 a better education by teaching them basic numeracy, teachings songs, building their vocabulary in French and English and organising art and sports activities to improve their coordination and motor skills.

In the afternoons I will work in a care centre for street children teaching them about how to stay healthy and teaching them basic life skills.

For my volunteer work I need to raise £2000. Over the next 12 months I will be doing a number of fundraising activities which I will keep you up to date with. I would value any support I can get during my fundraising events but I have also created this page to make it easier for people to leave a donation. Every penny counts!!
