Story

Anne and Jill are raising funds for the Skipton Invisible Illness Support Group which they set up in January after Anne was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia last November. We have a thriving online community of local people (including Anne and Jill) suffering from many different conditions including fibromyalgia, M.E., Lupus, depression, bi-polar, anxiety, PTSD, arthritis, FND and many many others. We also have a weekly face to face meeting where we get the chance to offer one another mutual support. We also invite professionals in to speak. The group has been a lifeline for many members already and we are wanting to do much more to build on this. Money raised will go towards rent for our premises, a bank of books and resources and help individuals be able to access life-changing therapies that they would otherwise not get to have. Many of these illnesses are misunderstood and have led to sufferers being isolated, cut off from family and friends, Many are unable to work or live any kind of normal life. Anne is going to do an abseil down the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth on the 26th August to raise money and also to raise awareness of how variable these conditions can be.... If its a good day she will be able to do it... On a bad day she definitely wouldn't... We are praying for a good day!! Please donate if you can, and be assured that your money will be helping individuals... Real people...improving their lives one person at a time. Thank you so much.
