I'm raising £60,000 for an emergency to help the Shahin family

I will begin by introducing myself. My name is Joëlle and I am living in the UK. I am setting up this fundraiser on behalf of my friend Mohammad Shahin, a journalist from Gaza. Unfortunately, there were many issues with his last campaign, and as a result, the family did not receive all the money raised and is having to start from scratch again.

I will be transferring the funds raised directly into Mohammads' account at regular intervals and will also be posting regular updates.

The funds are ultimately to allow Mohammad and his family to evacuate out of Gaza when the crossing re-opens. However, due to the fact that Mohammad has lost his home (it was completely destroyed and is now just a pile of rubble) and the price of day-to-day living food and water is insanely high, some of the funds will be used to allow the family just to live and survive in these horrific and harsh times. The 4 children have also all been acutely unwell and needed medical input at a hospital over the past year.

MESSAGE FROM MOHAMMAD

Hello, dear friends and generous supporters,

My name is Mohammad Shahin, a journalist residing in Gaza, and I find myself reaching out to you with a humble plea for assistance. My family and I are facing incredibly challenging circumstances, and we are seeking your support to break free from the hardships that have befallen us in Gaza.

Life in Gaza has been a constant struggle, marked by economic instability, restricted access to basic resources, and an uncertain future. As a journalist, I have dedicated my efforts to ~shedding~ shed light on the stories of resilience and perseverance in this region, but the ongoing challenges have taken a toll on my own family.

I am ~the~ a father of four beautiful children - Jude, Mahmoud, Sham, and Farah. Their innocence and laughter bring warmth to our home, but it pains me to see them ~grow~ growing up amidst the difficulties that ~persist~ occur in Gaza. The limited opportunities and strained living conditions have made it increasingly difficult for us to provide them with the life they deserve.

Jude is our youngest child and was born during this war. All of my children have been acutely ill at different times over the past year and have required medical input. My youngest child was in intensive care for a while.

Our dream is to give Mahmoud, Jude, Sham, and Farah a chance ~at~ to have a better future, one where they can thrive without the constant worries that surround us in Gaza. We have explored various avenues, and after careful consideration, we have come to the difficult decision of seeking assistance through this fundraiser campaign.

Your support will enable us to relocate from Gaza, offering my children the prospect of a brighter future and the opportunity to build a life free from the constraints we face here. The raised funds ~raised~ will be used for the necessary travel expenses, securing a new place to live, and covering the initial costs of settling into a more stable environment.
