Story
My husband and I are doing the Yorkshire Dales challenge on the 26th June to raise money to support all the hard work done at Yorkshire Rabbit Retreat and Leah who takes in rabbits who have been abandoned or given up for various reasons.
The challenge involves walking 21 miles in under 11 hours and 1,200m ascent climbing Birkshell, Buckden Pike and Great Whernside .
Leah ( who runs and owns YRR) uses her own money and that of donations to vaccinate, neuter, spay, feed and give the rabbits a safe place to stay.
Rabbits are one of the top 3 animals abandoned every year. Bought as 'an easy pet' people soon realise that they are costly, need more than being stuck in a hutch all day and are not so keen on being picked up.Without rescues like YRR many of these rabbits would not survive. Having adopted a rescue rabbit from YRR I was able to witness first hand the amazing work she does. She also managed to bond him with 2 I already had!
Please support me in my challenge.
