I've raised £100 to Stray Cat Cremation

My daughter Samantha, who lives in the Glencairn Park area of Ayr, is a bit of a cat whisperer and always looks out for stray cats in the area. For many years she fed and cared for a feral cat she called Mr. Toffee. Mr. Toffee was a scared and hissy ginger social misfit who had been abandoned by his owners when they moved out of the area. He found a resting place in Samantha's home by inviting himself through the cat flap and eating all the food left out but he never lost his wanderlust and came and went at will. On 19th September Sam saw a post on FB about a cat which had been hit by a car and killed on Caledonia Road. She thought it sounded like her wee feral boy and set off right away to find that it was indeed Mr. Toffee. who had been picked up from the road and placed on the pavement. I offered to help her bury him but she was concerned that he would be disturbed by other animals and instead took him to the vet for cremation. The cremation cost was £100. I wondered if anyone in the area who knew Mr. Toffee and who also fed him, would be able to contribute even a small amount to help cover the cost.
