Story
Summer 1990 was when I first met Wendy and Peter, working as an au pair looking after their children Storm, Sam, Conan and Courtney. That was the year before they all emigrated to Australia.
My dream of going to Oz became a reality in 1992, when I visited them in Perth, WA. We kept in contact by post (that's what you did back then lol), but as time went by we lost contact with each other.
Thanks to Facebook, we found each other again in 2014, that's when I learnt that Conan had tragically taken his own life, at the age of 23, news that devastated me.
Wendy created the Barbarians Group in Conan's name. This Australian based charity helps with suicide prevention and mental health, and will soon have a UK branch too. Have a look at their website www.barbariansgroup.org.au
This June, my husband Kev and I will climb Mount Snowdon (1,085m) in North Wales to raise funds for the Barbarians Group. Please help me to help them so that another family doesn't have to go through the same pain. Thank you.
