    Story

Lewis has had the honour of being selected to represent Scotland at the 54th EKF Senior Championships in Guadalajara, Spain at the end of March 2019, one week after his 18th birthday.

He has also just been selected to represent Scotland at the WKF Cadet, Junior & U21 World Championships in Santiago, Chile in October 2019.

Three call ups to represent his country in one year is a fantastic achievement. This will be his 4th time representing Scotland. Lewis has worked so hard to get to this stage and hopes to continue to grow as an athlete and have success at these championships. I'm sure he will make us all proud.

Lewis also has competitions in Sweden and Poland in April and October as well as his first Series A competitions in Turkey and Canada in May and June. These competitions are crucial to increasing his rankings with WKF to enable him to be able to compete at K1 events, which are the highest possible competitions other than Olympics, which currently will only be featured for 2020. Lewis is hopeful it will be added to 2024.

Unfortunately, there is no funding available for these competitions and Lewis relies on the bank of mum and dad and the generous donations friends and family make through Just Giving.

He would greatly welcome any donations big or small towards these trips.

Thank you very much in advance for reading his story and any donation you are able to make.

Lewis started karate 11 years ago, and loved it from his very first class. He sat his first dan the day before his 11th birthday, and sat his second dan 5 years ago. Karate is Lewis’s life. He has been teaching kids karate for several years now and loves that too.
