Story

A little about me... I joined a local slimming group in January 2018, i have so far lost just over 5 Stone and I am in touching distance of my target weight. I saw the WCF Boxing event advertised and thought i would give it a shot to improve my fitness, help me lose the last few pounds and raise lots of money for a very deserving cause! ... So here i am... WISH ME LUCK! ...I have never done anything this challenging though i can promise that I am 100% committed to the cause. It is going to be grueling but worth every second!...

I am taking part in a charity boxing event at Bowlers Exhibition Centre on Friday 23rd November 2018. This is following 8 weeks of intense training to make me 'fight ready'

I have chosen to raise funds for Greater Manchester Animal Hospital as it is a cause very close to my heart. Last year my dog, became extremely poorly very quickly with a life threatening condition called Pyometra. Our usual vet would not treat her unless we could provide £1000.00 before the start of this emergency treatment, we did not have this amount immediately to hand and the only alternative we were offered was euthanasia at £97.00. We were absolutely heart broken, in our panic we called RSPCA Animal Hospital in Salford and explained our situation. Immediately and without any hesitation, we were told to take Annie straight to them and they will treat her. When we arrived Annie was very poorly and she was seen straight away.

They kept Annie over night after a very nervy operation where we were told they would do their best to save her life. They did, they removed a huge abscess from her womb which could have burst at any moment even during surgery.

She was back home with us the next day on the road to recovery. She is now living life to the fullest because of this amazing place! - they care about animals and put their welfare first, not their bank balance like our 'vets' did.

They billed us only £300 for the whole procedure and aftercare and told us to take as long as we needed to pay them back.

I cannot express how much this charity deserves and needs donations, they truly are amazing!

I know that they do not receive any funding, and rely solely on donations. Without them, Annie would not be here and I want to raise as much money as possible to help save another animal in need.

Thank you, from me and Annie xxx
