Story

Hello and thank you for looking at my page.

My name is Anne and I live in Llanwrtyd Wells, UK and am doing this fundraising for a Memorial that is being planned at our local school, Ysgol Dolafon. This is our families way of saying THANK YOU for all the support the school has given us in good and some personal trying times.

Over the years the staff have offered our family a lot of extra support after our daughter Emma was diagnosed as Autistic. She was able to stay at the school and despite funding cuts and staff loses, we have NEVER been let down.

But in 2017 the community was rocked by the tragic fire in Llangammarch Wells. Five children and their father lost their lives when their home caught fire in the night. The children had all attended Ysgol Dolafon. Again, the staff at the school were an enormous support, despite their own shock and grief.

The Memorial to this family will be a fun space on the school grounds for educational events but will also provide a 'chill-out' space for staff and pupils. This is something our Emma will benefit from as often she does get over-stimulated.

May 27 is the Half-Term holidays and the school pupils and staff will be asked to contribute to my fundraiser by contributing to the DESIGN OF MY COSTUME when I take part in the WORLD BOG SNORKELING CHAMPIONSHIPS on August 25th. I'm a very keen amateur sewer but will use as many environmentally friendly materials as possible! I'm hoping rhinestones will be in the design and am already experimenting with edible glitter and wooden buttons to get the effect!!

Please follow me on Facebook as well as here as I will be posting costume design and construction updates. Suggestions and ideas will be gratefully recieved.

THANK YOU
