Anne, a local 84 Year old resident of East Grinstead was scammed out of £700 cash from her home by a cold caller,. She had a phone call from what she thought was her Building Society saying that she had been scammed and they were putting her through to the fraud squad in London. They then went to her house and picked up her cards and said that she shouldn’t keep money in the house so she gave them £700. She only realised she had been scammed today because they said that someone would come to her house at 9.30 to give her her new cards!! Please tell any elderly relatives or neighbours about this so no one else falls for it !!
