On the fateful day of 14/06/2017, my friend Unny Mutune and her family got involved in a grisly road accident on the way to their native home. We thank God that they all survived, though with injuries. They were rushed to Matter hospital(Nairobi-Kenya) and after a few days her and her husband were discharged leaving their little four-month baby Jordel Mau in Hospital.

Following the accident, Baby Jordel was diagnosed with cervical spine dislocation (C5-C6), Lower respiratory tract infection and fractured left humerus. Jordel underwent a cervical spine surgery and since then he has been admitted in the Intensive Care Unit for mechanical ventilation, analgesics, antibiotics, chest physiotherapy among other care.

Jordel was the best thing that happened to my friend. At two months, he was already smiling and so full of energy. She could not imagine a day without Jordel. Being a first-time mum, she was so cautious and excited about her baby, holding Jordel all the time even when he sleeps. She still holds dear to the future and all the good plans she had in mind for her dear son.

It has been two months since the accident and she has not been able to hold Jordel. Her heart breaks every time she sees Jordel in the ICU with so much pain and breathing difficulties. You never think that something like this will happen to such a small baby, but unfortunately it has happened. The doctors say they are doing everything possible within their means for baby Jordel.

My friend and I are kindly appealing for your prayers and financial support to help cover baby Jordel hospital bills. As of 15th August,2017 the hospital bill stands at 5 Million Kenya Shillings and as the clock keeps on ticking so does the bill.
