Last week my families world was turned upside down when my Sister, Rachels precious little girl Annie had a very unexpected cardiac arrest on a normal Thursday afternoon. She was given CPR by family members till an ambulance arrived. She then had a very turbulent 48 hours between A&E and Intensive Care. Through MRI scans, it was revealed that Annies spinal cord was being trapped by her spine itself. She has had to undergo major surgery and whilst she is more stable, she is still in hospital on a long road to recovery. My brave and strong sister Rachel and her partner Stuart have been by her side every step of this heartbreaking and stressful journey. They naturally won’t leave Annie's side, until she is safe and sound. Both of them are not getting an income at the moment and whilst this pales into insignificant against their situation with Annie, it is an additional stress that they really could do without.
