Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On Monday June 17th 2024, the brightest light in our lives and the lives of many went out when Jacob Arthur Davinson passed away following a seven month fight against DIPG/DMG.

To honor Jacobs memory, myself and 20+ close friends and family will be taking on an endurance challenge and walking from where Jacob lived in West London to Brighton Pier. Covering 60+ miles non-stop over 24 hours, supported on the route by Jacobs mummy Nicole and other family.

This walk will be raising important funds for Mercy's Mighty Foundation. The foundation was created by Paul and Lorraine Cuthbertson, the parents of Mercy Cuthbertson, after she was diagnosed with and passed away from the very same tumour that Jacob had, DIPG. The Foundation supports children diagnosed with a DIPG by sending them a Mercy Box filled with lots of exciting crafts. They also take craft box referrals for children who have been diagnosed with other types of high grade brain tumours or a cancer diagnosis, helping to ensure that we support as many paediatric brain tumour and cancer patients as possible.

More about the foundation can be found here:

The impact that the type of service that Paul and Lorraine provide is so unbelievably positive yet cannot be measured. Jacob was the beneficiary of similar referrals during his illness and often provided him with enjoyment during what was a difficult time for him to manage so to be able to support Mercy's Mighty Foundation to benefit other children going through similar experiences is something that we are immensely proud of.
