I've raised £200 to recognise the fantastic support received from the G1 Ward, West Suffolk Hospital in memory of my brave and beautiful sister, Charlotte Duck

On the 3rd May 2019, my brave and beautiful sister Charlotte unfortunately lost her battle with cancer. Throughout her illness, she had been in and out of the Macmillan Cancer Ward in the West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds, where the nurses were absolutely fantastic and did an amazing job caring for Charlotte and making sure that we were all coping too. They often went over and above what was required from them so that they could ensure she was able to enjoy herself. They even arranged a Disney themed party on the ward with character actors, games and food when she was forced to cancel a trip with her two children and husband to Disneyland in Paris. This was an amazing gesture from them and a testament to their hard work and dedication to caring for those on their ward.
We want to recognise the awesome work all the staff on the ward do, day in and day out to make their patients stay on the ward as comfortable as possible and turn what could be a negative experience into a positive one. The money will be used to buy essential items for patients, such as heat pads and v neck pillows - items that usually have to be provided by the patients themselves.
