Story

Anthony has always dreamt of running in the London Marathon, despite the fact that he hasn’t participated in any major running events or minor come to think of it!

So you can imagine the feelings he experienced when he opened a letter confirming his place in this year’s London Marathon! Yes after the sheer delight what closely followed was feelings of shock, dread and the question which crossed his mind was how I am going to do this?!

On the day he found out he had been successful, after 7 years of applying, he went for a run that evening and completed two miles and could hardly walk afterwards. Sheer panic struck and he asked himself what have I done? The London marathon is 26.2 miles.

Anthony secured his place in the marathon via the ballot therefore he isn’t required to raise money for a charity. Anthony has set himself a goal and focus and to this end he has chosen to raise money for Deanshanger Village Pre School. The reason why this is close to Anthony’s heart is because many families in the village children attend or have attended the play group as well as his and his partners children. The play group established as a charity 25 years ago, receives basic government funding to provide high quality care and education for all the children who attend.

All the money that he raises from this will fund new play equipment and resources as well as maintaining the building and garden area.

Please make a donation no matter how big or small the little things will make a difference to the children and it will be enjoyed!
