Story
Colleagues
It is with regret that we wish to inform you of the death of our colleague, Anthony Chisakuta. Anthony was dedicated to the care of children in Northern Ireland and was an inspiration to many. His influence remains in the Childrens hospital among the consultants he mentored and encouraged to enter Paediatric Anaesthesia and PICU training. “What would Tony do?” is still a commonplace thought when faced with a complex case. He was not only a superb clinician but a fantastic teacher to both colleagues and junior staff that he came into contact with. He is remembered as a larger than life character who brought joy to those around him and he will be sadly missed. He is survived by his wife, Emma, siblings, nieces and nephews. It was Tony’s wish to be buried at “home” in Zambia. Repatriation is quite expensive. We felt that rather than donate flowers we could help with the cost. Excess money raised will be donated to LifeBox and or Beit Cure Hospital, Zambia where he worked most recently
