Story
As you are all aware Ant has been in agony with his back now for many years and it doesn't appear to be getting any better. Every time I have seen him, the deterioration in his condition has left me heartbroken and the last time I saw him I decided enough was enough. Despite operations, medication and physiotherapy, he is still housebound and in pain 24 hrs a day. His mobility is so limited now that he can barely walk and it is very difficult for him to leave the house. It would make a huge difference to his wellbeing if he could get out in the sunshine, visit friends and family and possibly even go out to watch his friend's fishing. One of the pastimes Ant misses the most is fishing and one of his dreams is to get back to it again. Ant has had to give up his work, his hobbies and ultimately his freedom. He is confined to a chair or his bed for much of the day and night, with Sharon and other members of the family coming in to care for him when they can. This is no life for a 42 year old man who was so fit and had such a zest for life and work. I am desperate to make this Xmas, as comfortable as it can be for him. I want to make sure that he has the best quality of life he can, despite his pain and discomfort. I am looking to raise as much as possible to take the load off the family this Xmas and to get any equipment possible to make Ant more comfortable. The NHS will help with some equipment but they are limited and I want us to do more. Ant is a fighter but even fighters can only cope with so much. Let's make this Xmas as good as we can for him. Please help if you can. Thanks Gina
Although the family are aware that I have set up a just giving page, all opinions are my own.
