I've raised £500 to RVI HOSPITAL

This year Finlay (6) and Theo (4) will be running the Mini Great North run in aid of the Royal Victoria Infirmary, The Great North Children’s Hospital commonly referred to as the RVI in Newcastle.
Finlay chose to run for the RVI to show his gratitude for the critical care that’s his younger brother Luca receives from this amazing hospital.
Luca is 2-year-old and from being born has fought through multiple health complications. Luca suffers with Pharingomalaycia Dysphagia an extremely rare condition which causes Luca’s Pharynx to collapse when he breathes causing aspiration, this meant Luca had to be fitted with Mini Button so he could be PEG fed, a surgery that was conducted by the RVI. Luca also has partial bulbar palsy alongside being non-verbal. The RVI also manage Lucas ongoing Neurological testing. However, his health issues never keep him down and he is full of character and mischief. Finlay speaks with up most pride for Luca and is always telling people how well he is doing with overcoming some of the odds he faces, a pride that is shared with Luca’s parents Caitlin and Chris alongside his whole family.
Finlay is an exemplary big brother not only to Luca and his baby sister Lucie but to his other brothers Theo and Rowan. Theo also has his own health complications which limit part of his life and Finlay always offers the upmost support.
Finlay and Theo’s bond is like no other so it is only fitting that they do this fundraising together and raise as much money as they can for such a remarkable Hospital and cause.
It may only be a mile that they run but the help this money will give to the RVI so they can continue to do what they do has no finish line. Thank you for reading and we hope they have your support.
