Disability support

Story

In 2008 Antony was seriously assaulted after trying to protect a black female friend who was being racially and physically assaulted by a group of men. During the attack Antony was beaten unconscious with a for extinguisher and then forced at knifepoint out of a 3rd floor balcony window. He suffered 7 broken bones in his spine. Since then he has had 4 major surgeries to try to help him walk but he still needs a wheelchair or crutches. The person who commited the attack was sentenced to 8 years in prison and is now out of prison. This has had a big imoact on Antonys mental healtj and he will not leave the house. At the moment his bathroom is not fit or safe for him to use and he desperately needs an adapted bathroom. Antony also suffers from PTSD and deep depression. Last week he tried committing suicide due to his depression and the way his physical disabilities make him feel. Finally he is now getting help from the mental health crisis team but they are unable to help with the adaptations he needs in his home. Due to the benefits agency not paying him the right amount he has gotten into a lot of debt, this also putting a lot of strain on him mentally. We are getting things sorted slowly and now have a network of people to support Antony but he still needs financial help to help asap his home so it is safe for him to use. Olease if anybody could help it would be greatly appreciated and go a long way to get Antony the help he needs.
