Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
The little Arsenia-Ekaterini Soldatos is 12 years old. She lives in the city of Lefkada in Greece with her family consisting of 5 brothers, 4 boys and her mother Moraiti Christina. Their father, George Soldatos, has unfortunately passed away recently.
Unfortunately, Arsenia - Catherine suffers from a serious uncommon cardiac condition and had to undergo cardiac surgery to replace one of her heart's valves. Her operation was not straightforward and had some complications, but was eventually successful. Now one of her brothers has also been diagnosed with a serious neurological condition which has reduced his hearing significantly, and is being assessed by specialists in Greece to decide further treatment. This has made him incapable of working.
The family is in an extremely difficult financial situation. Christina, being a single mother of 5 children following the loss of her husband, is unable to cope with the huge costs for specialist medical care for her 2 sick children, as well as with the daily living expenses. At the moment they have zero income.
As a doctor working in the NHS, I can see the huge difference in the standards of care and the overall support that such a family would receive in the UK compared to what is offered in Greece. In this regard, the family is knocking at your door for YOUR support. Any donation can be made either directly to the family's account or to this fundraising page, and can make a huge difference to this family's life.
