Story
Appleby Frodingham Cricket Club is a community club which has been at the heart of the local sporting community for over 100 years. The club is committed to continuing to grow the game, building out a structure which provides everyone with the opportunity to access the game we love.
Each year the club selects a charity which is close to our heart and in 2024 we were able to donate £8,176 to Parkinson’s UK.
This year our partner will be The Brain Tumour Charity and we aim to repeat the success of last year by completing a 26-mile walk from Bawtry to Brumby Hall on Sunday 30th March.
The Brain Tumour Charity funds pioneering research to find new treatments, improve understanding, increase survival and bring us closer to a cure whilst providing the highest level of support to those affected.
We are already joined by the Norriss family who will be walking in memory of their beloved husband, father and uncle, Stephen Norriss, who sadly passed away following a short battle with a grade-4 brain tumour in 2024.
The family experienced first-hand the incredible work The Brain Tumour Charity is doing and we recognise that plenty more will have had their own experiences with the illness.
We would therefore like to extend an invite to anybody interested in joining us for the day and taking on the challenge – just message the Facebook page for further details.

In addition to raising funds for The Brain Tumour Charity, the sponsored walk plays an integral role in raising much needed funds to secure the clubs future and we are incredibly grateful for any support you can provide.
