Story

I have been doing Dry January, but I cant help but feel like a month of giving up alcohol is no real challenge

So instead I have decided to attempt a full year without alcohol. Not even a small glass of wine with dinner. Nothing.

I am doing this for my own benefit as much as I am doing it for charity, so I do not expect any donations. But if you have ever owed me a drink, if you would buy me a drink on my birthday, I ask instead that you donate to a charity so close to my heart.

Our Fathers House Ministries is a small charity based in Uganda, who ensure the local children can go to school, can have safe shelter and enough to eat. I myself sponsor Olivia, a young girl who was orphaned, and whose kind carer couldn’t afford her education or housing for much longer. For the cost of a night out a month I ensure she gets a good education and a good quality of life. There are however a lot of children in the care of OFHM who do not have sponsors, and any extra money would be extremely beneficial to such a small charity. Supporting a small charity means I know my money goes not to a CEO and his accountant, but 100% goes to the children.

So I ask if you have a few pounds spare, to donate it to such an amazing cause. I will of course share pictures of what the money has gone towards, and you will have many young Ugandan children owing you so much.

Thanks for reading, wish me luck!
