In June 2017, I will be part of a team of 10 University of Leeds students travelling to South Africa to volunteer on the Gryphons Abroad programme.

Our aim is to deliver life changing projects to the people of Zulu Natal, by developing and delivering a sustainable programme that aims to inspire and motivate change in young people in Leeds and South Africa, through sport, education and leadership.

Our project aims to deliver sport and education in order to inspire these young people to continue and further their education. We will also be working in a rural school to teach lessons (academic and physical) and to introduce a cycling programme that will increase the reach and access of education for these children.

We will be working with the Bambini Partnership Charity to develop the programme and ensure that it is effective and sustainable.

This is an amazing opportunity for me, as a privileged UK citizen, to offer a chance of education and voluntary experience to children and young people who are so much less fortunate than us. Anything you are able or willing to give, would be greatly received by me and the rest of our team!
