Story
The Macmillan Primrose Unit in Bedford was a huge support for my wife during a horrible period after she had been diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer. Thankfully, now in remission, we don't visit the Primrose Unit anymore, but we were in regular attendance for close to six months.
Everyone at the Unit treats both patients and their families as friends. Obviously, the Unit isn't a pleasant place to be, but there is still laughter and a buzz while people are receiving their treatment.
Through my work with Aprimo, I was persuaded to complete the Birmingham Velo bike ride, which is a ONE HUNDRED MILE cycle around Birmingham on the 12th May. Whilst probably not sounding like much to many of you, to me (and also to some of the team completing it with me) it is a long way - probably 8-10 hours in the saddle :S
The "Aprimo Team" of myself, Mary Neville, Peter Hastings and Adrian Heath have all kindly agreed that raising some money for this very worthwhile cause to allow them to continue to provide the amazing care they do is a great motivator to get through those miles.
