Story

Kingdom of Bhutan, Land of the Thunder Dragon - this tiny country straddles the Himalayas. Bhutan is less affected by modern civilization than other countries. It is a feast for the eyes and eye opening cultural experience.
Bhutan is one of the happiest countries in the world and the happiest country in Asia. With only approximately 800,000 people and over 70% of forests they have managed to protect and conserve 51% of their forests..this is one of the most eco friendly countries with the lowest carbon footprint..
We have a lot to learn from the people of Bhutan especially a lot of gratitude for these people who are protecting our planet and truly care for it.

As a small gesture of gratitude to the people of Bhutan, a few months back my 8 year old son and I have hiked up to The Tiger’s Nest Monastery; which is a sacred Buddhist site located near Paro, Bhutan. It was constructed in 1692 and is at an elevation of 10,332 ft - it is perched on the cliff, high off the valley floor. We will trek there and back so as to raise funds for the Tarayana Foundation to help build homes for the extremely vulnerable Bhutanese people that live in remote rural areas of the tough Himalayan region. Our aim is to raise funds to help build atleast 3-4 homes for the vulnerable via the Foundation.
