Story
We are planning to develop a home aquaponics system which we will sell at close to cost price. We believe everyone should have equal access to nutritious food
We will do this by:
- Developing the system seen above to be as self-maintaining as possible
We began designing the first self-cleaning fish tanks in 2012 and then designed a range of other sustainable solutions tailored for the UK climate. In 2013 we established Aquaponic Life with the aim of improving food production for the people and planet combined. Since then we have experimented with a number of different techniques, fish and plants to develop the best system. We now want to develop this system into a product available to the public.
- Developing our own fish foods - currently organic feeds are very difficult to aquire and are not suitably balanced
If we produce feeds which are suitably balanced for all lifeforms concerned then the most complicated elements of aquaponics would be far more user friendly and our aim is simplify as much as possible in order to make aquaponics as accessible as possible to anyone wishing to have a go. We strongly believe that food security should be the right of everyone
