I'm running 5K for Addiction Arts!
I'll be doing a Brighton and Hove Park Run on Saturday, 24 February
Every year around a quarter of a million people in the UK are in contact with first line support services for substance misuse. While initial professional medical treatment can be essential in helping people who are suffering from addiction, long term recovery can cause further challenges and without support many individuals can relapse into addiction.

At the ARA Network, we believe that the arts can help in medium to long-term recovery. Participating in arts, be it visual, dance, music, theatre or writing helps build to support networks, rebuild self-esteem, and give avenues of self-expression. It can also help to increase understanding and empathy for those in recovery amongst the wider community.
Addiction impacts individuals, families, friends and local communities. At ARA Network we believe the solutions should also be community based.
