Story
It is with a deep sense of loss that the anaesthetic department at Frimley Park Hospital would like to announce the sudden passing of our dear friend and colleague.
Araz Pourkashanian - husband, father, son and friend died on the 23rd November 2020, from an intracranial haemorrhage .
Araz was well known among the anaesthetic departments in the South London where he trained. He made friends wherever he went and will be remembered as a softly spoken, kind, honest and hard-working person. He was a remarkable and dedicated anaesthetist whose humility didn’t allow him to fully appreciate just how good he was.
He made a profound impact at Frimley Park where he dedicated much of his time to the setup of a dedicated regional anaesthesia service. It was something he was rightly proud of and has had a big and positive impact on patient care. His efforts culminated in his appointment to a consultant post at Frimley Park Hospital which he was due to take up in February 2021.
Araz was on the organ donor register and in one final act of altruism, he ensured, that even as he passed, others will carry on living by the light of the flame lit by his torch.
While we rejoice in the life he has given to others, we are left bereft by the void he leaves in our hearts. We pass on our deepest condolences to his wife Lucy and their sons, Casper and Leo and the rest of the Family.
A memorial fund has been set up for Araz and his family. All donations will go directly to Lucy, Casper and Leo.
Thank you in advance for all your messages and contributions.
