Steve Moore, aka Archie.

Archie had a Aortic Disection back November 2018. We made our way to James Cook Hopsital unaware of how serious his condition was, to be met by a surgeon and a doctor telling us that he was life threatening poorly and needed emergency surgery.

During the 8.5hours he spent in theatre repairing his heart Archie also suffered from a stroke this has left him with little to no movement to his left hand side. Archie then spent just under 7 weeks in the Coronary Intensive Care Unit at JCUH where he spent most of this time in a coma. He then moved to ward 28 for just under 2 weeks and was then transferred Redcar Primary Care Hopsital in mid January for rehabilitation where he still currently resides.

Since being in Redcar hospital and having intensive physio therapy daily, he is making progress and the team hope that this will continue. Our home has been assessed and will require significant adaptions to enable Archie to live as independently as possible.

The NHS have been amazing throughout this whole ordeal and without their quick response and thinking Archie simply wouldn’t be here today, therefore as a family we’re very thankful.

One thing myself and Archie would like to ask is that.. if you are prescribed regular medication, please take it, no matter what, none of us are invincible and not doing so could change your whole life in a split second and it may never be the same again.

Myself, Jess & Sam will be doing a sponsored skydive to help raise money for Archie, dates are to be confirmed and I will update this page when confirmed.

Primarily the aim of this page to be able to raise funds to go towards buying Archie super duper reclining chair that will support him to sit comfortably in his own home and watch his beloved football - anyone who knows him knows his love for football!!
