Story
Archie Albert Pickersgill
DOB: October 30th 2020
In February our world was devastated when our beautiful eldest boy, Archie, suddenly and unexpectedly passed away.
Archie has always been so special, wise and inquisitive beyond his years, with such a creative imagination that would see him telling his 'pretend stories' for hours. He was gentle and sensitive, but so playful with a hilariously dry sense of humour. We welcomed his little brother, Theodore, to the family in October 2024... Archie was smitten instantly. His caring nature made him an amazing big brother, and he would make Theodore laugh like no one else could.
The sudden nature of Archie's passing has been difficult to comprehend. He was in school the day before, and remained smiling and vibrant in his last moments, which is something that we try to take comfort in. The tragedy of Archie's story, is that he contracted a rare form of cancer, T-cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma, of which he developed a tumour in his chest. This is not only fast growing & aggressive, but extremely difficult to detect and was only discovered hours before his passing.
We miss our boy dearly every minute that passes, and the pain can be so overwhelming, but we know that we must find the strength each day to move forward and live our lives in honour of Archie.
Altra 13 Valleys Ultra Marathon
I have recently turned to running to try and keep my body and mind as healthy as possible, and myself & a few friends will be taking part in the Altra 13 Valleys Ultra Marathon event on September 26th. We have entered the 55k 5 Valley Race, which we hope to complete in under 10 hours. This is a trail race from starting in Waterhead, finishing in Keswick with a total of 2300m of elevation.

If you can spare any change, we would love to raise some money for Ruebens Retreat Charity, and Archie's School, Waterfoot Primary. The donations will be equally shared between these organisations.
Ruebens Retreat
Ruebens Retreat support families of children living with medical complexities, and families that have suffered child loss. Although early in our journey with Ruebens Retreat, the support that they give to families is incredible. Rueben's Mum, Nic, is honestly an incredible person and has dedicated her life to helping other families. We would love to give back and support them in anyway that we can.

Waterfoot Primary School
Archie loved school, learning & being creative is where he thrived. In his short time there, he made special connections with his classmates and teachers, and they have since commissioned a memorial, so Archie will forever remain a part of the school. There will be a reflection garden for his friends and classmates to spend time and keep Archie in their thoughts and part of their journey through school. We would love to offer some support to the school and Archie's classmates, and in someway repay the kindness they have shown to us.
Thank you for any kind donations that you can spare.
