Story
We at Archus are passionate about improving healthcare and are committed to corporate responsibility. We are striving to make a positive social impact and want to give back to communities that do not share our relative advantages.
We are therefore fundraising for investment in basic healthcare support for a remote African community.
Mkasanga is a village of 2,036 people in Mwanya, Luangwa Valley, Zambia. It has only one outpatient clinic room for administering first aid and a visiting vaccination service. This was built in 2006 and continues to be financially supported, by The Tafika Fund.
We are fundraising to invest in basic services to enable:
1. Dedicated maternal and child health support
2. Preventative healthcare education for the whole community
3. Family planning guidance
4. Primary healthcare training
5. Consistent provision of essential medical supplies
Our event on Friday 23rd July 2021 is a challenge to complete a 25km walk, across 16 bridges on the River Thames from Putney to Tower Bridge, in six (6) hours, in the heat and humidity of a London summer!
Join us, sponsor us. Together we will make a difference. All sponsorship and donations will go to the Tafika Fund to be invested directly for healthcare in Mkasanga village.
The walking team so far includes:
Alice Chudley, Amar Sharma, Divyesh Gadhia, Finlay Lohoar-Self, Jacob Lawrence, Liam Sayers, Marina Odjegba, Ola Fasosin, Pooja Patel, Rhiannon Hickinbottom, Stan Coats, and Tom Kiernan.
As the Tafika Fund is not a UK registered Charity you are unable to give Gift Aid, sorry for any inconvenience.

The first COVID-19 vaccinations are being rolled out within the village. Many more still waiting to come.
Below are some photos of the London team during and after completing the challenge.
