Story
Arco’s Ark Animal Sanctuary cares for over 80 animals big and small. The sanctuary is owned and run by just two people, myself (Carly) and Michael, we have no help with funding or volunteers. The entire sanctuary and residents are paid for completely by ourselves.
Sadly, we are no longer able to take in anymore animals because we’re just struggling too much and it’s not fair on the animals already with us. We are therefore going to be unpublishing our facebook page within the next couple of weeks but since announcing this we’ve had lots of lovely people offering to donate gifts to our animals and a few have even asked if we have a page for donations, which is why i’ve decided to set this up. Don’t worry, we dont expect anything (which is why the target is so low) but of course any donations that are made to our animals are so gratefully received.
Our animals are our family and other than the farm animals, each and every one of them live indoors with us as part of the family. Not a single kennel in sight, ever.
We’re no ordinary rescue with kennels, cattery and small hutches. We are a home based sanctuary with a warm house, sofas, beds (ours included, meaning we’re always squashed every night!), an entire room dedicated to the smaller animals where they can run free and big sheds plus lots of land for the chickens, ducks, horses and pigs to roam and behave naturally. We even have automated heating and lighting so that the animals are never left in the dark or feel too cold if we get back after the sun sets!
We do all of this partly because I’m crazy but mainly because we both love animals and treat them how we would want to be treated ourselves.
