Story

We are raising money to fund nine Arden Sixth Form students to travel to South Africa in order to provide vital teaching support for a deprived school. Each donation is crucial to the running of the school and will go a long way in improving the lives of so many young children. Our target is over £24,000 which will fund the flights, accommodation and hours of teaching and support for the children.

Schitsdrift school is a chronically understaffed and deprived school located in the Drakensburg Mountains near the city of Durban. The class sizes, lack of resources and general school environment make it an incredibly difficult environment for the children to learn and reach their potential.

Over the last few years, Arden Sixth Form has been sending out groups of students to support, renovate and improve the school. We’ll be travelling out to build on this and improve the school further. This will include passing on new teaching techniques and resources to the teachers, giving the new children a new, exciting experience of teaching and leaving a lasting physical legacy for the school.
